8堂挑戰流行鋼琴

FEATURED STORY

8-Lesson Pop Piano Challenge

Many people have always wanted to learn piano,
but as adults, they often feel it's too late to start.

Some worry about not having a foundation,
some fear their hands aren't coordinated,
and some believe it takes a very long time to truly play a complete song.

This time, we documented a student's journey from zero to challenging pop piano in 8 lessons.
From touching the piano for the first time to the final performance, the entire process was fully recorded.

01|PROJECT KICK-OFF

STUDENT INTERVIEW

Before officially starting piano lessons for the first time, the student shared why they wanted to learn piano and honestly expressed their anxieties and expectations.

02|CURRICULUM PLANNING

TEACHER INTERVIEW

The teacher shared the teaching approach for these 8 lessons and how they would guide the student step-by-step to develop rhythm, hand coordination, and playing ability.

03|FINAL PERFORMANCE

AFTER 8 LESSONS, PLAYING A COMPLETE SONG FOR THE FIRST TIME

We may not suddenly become great pianists,
but we can develop the habit of practicing for an hour every day,
and slowly play the music we love.

Many people think learning music is a distant dream,
but sometimes, the real difficulty isn't learning it,
but whether or not you're willing to start.

Mrs. Sun|Daughter, Elementary Level, Flute

After less than a year of learning flute at Parkland, her personality has become much more stable than before, because it's an instrument her daughter really wanted to learn. The teacher is very dedicated and finds additional pieces beyond the curriculum to keep her more interested. Learning here doesn't feel rigid.

BETTER FOCUS AFTER LEARNING DRUMS

Mrs. Zheng|Son, Junior Elementary Level, Drums

My son is more focused and attentive than before. It's not easy to play a whole song at Parkland, but he can do it. The teacher is very patient and uses games to keep him engaged in learning.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES MAKE LEARNING MUSIC MORE MEANINGFUL

Mrs. Zhou|Daughter, Junior High, Singing

I think it's rare that Parkland can provide students with performance opportunities. It would be a bit of a pity to learn music if you can't perform on stage, and performing can also greatly boost a child's confidence.
