▌Self-introduction

Hello, I'm Sky Tan, a bassist with both an engineering background and jazz music training.
I use bass to drive musical rhythm, specializing in structurally analyzing grooves to truly "infuse" rhythm and harmony into the music.

During university, I delved into jazz. My interdisciplinary background allows me to combine rational analysis with musical sensibility in teaching, helping students build a stable rhythmic core from understanding.

Currently, I am the bassist for Hearty Hunk and Unleash Club, active in various music festivals and live performances.

▌Classroom Style

Classes will start with "listening," guiding you to understand the bass's position in music, not just playing the correct notes, but feeling how it supports the rhythm and drives the overall groove.

The learning process will be based on auditory analysis and demonstration, breaking down songs and performing to show you the role of bass in music. Simultaneously, practice methods will be designed according to your habits and goals, gradually adjusting your playing state and mindset.

The atmosphere is professional yet relaxed, emphasizing interaction and understanding, allowing you to ask questions freely and explore your sound during practice. If you have performance, jam, or recording needs, the course will progressively guide you towards real-world scenarios and help you transform practice into truly applicable skills on stage.

▌Suitable Students

This bass course is suitable for you if you:

  • Want to understand groove, not just memorize rhythms
  • Want to support the rhythm section and drive the musical direction in a band
  • Enjoy Jazz, Funk, Rock, or want to participate in Jam Sessions
  • Have performance or recording needs and want to improve practical skills
  • Want to understand music through analytical methods
  • Don't just want to play the right notes, but want your sound to start "moving the music"

If you've ever felt that you "played all the right notes, but the music didn't move, couldn't keep up with the drummer, and the groove was always just a bit off," then this course is perfect for you.
