Course Positioning｜This course is based on scientific vocal training to establish stable and controllable vocalization abilities; combining pop, musical theater, and classical singing to help students develop diverse styles and vocal mastery.
▌Self-introduction
Hi, I'm Paul. I have cross-disciplinary performance and creation experience in classical vocal, pop, and musical theater. I am currently a singer, producer, and composer, active in various performance fields. Starting from classical vocal training and moving on to actual participation in pop and stage productions, I am used to switching between different vocal styles and am continuously exploring "what the voice can do."
In teaching, I tend not to rely on vague descriptions or abstract feelings. Instead, I use clear, actionable methods to help students understand the voice. Rather than guessing how to sing, it's better to understand how the voice works, as this leads to stable and long-lasting practice.
▌Musical Background
Education
- National Taipei University of the Arts, Master's and Bachelor's in Music
- Performance Diploma (Vocal Performance Major) from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
- Studied under Dr. Brian Gill, recipient of the American Theatre Wing's Silent Hero Award
Approaching from a scientific perspective, providing students with the most practical and actionable practice methods, so that singing practice can be traceable
and avoid misunderstandings caused by excessive imagination.
▌Performance Experience
- Participated in the production and performance of "Meow Meow Expedition" at the Taipei Children's Arts Festival
- Lead Vocalist (Classical & Pop) / Keyboardist for the Alternative Military Service Public Service Ambassador Troupe
- Participated in the recording of "Singers Sing Pop Songs" on the variety show "Hot Door Night"
- Performed and soloed with IU NOTUS at the NCCO American Choral Convention
- Held personal concerts
